When men gather together in the spirit of fellowship to mentor each other, converse, to share insight and to support one another in personal growth magic seems to happen. Throughout the year, a number of activities are held across the Triangle region, as well as the state and nation, that bring together men for this purpose. For many, these can be life-changing experiences.
The Men's Center welcomes submissions of events and activities for publishing consideration. To submit your event, please email the TMC Events Coordinator
Get ready for our annual Spring event that gathers men in a safe and stimulating environment where we explore issues like isolation, relationships, careers. By telling our stories, playing our music, hearing other men, exploring our inner worlds, having fun, writing poetry, making art, and more. This event is planned and led by men seasoned in facilitating men’s retreats and working with men through deep personal experiences.

Meetings on the third Thursday of each month in North Raleigh. Go to www.toinquiry.com to find out specifics about time and place. This is a meeting in which we explore questions about what it means to be a man and other issues in our lives. The result is that we discover skills, wisdom and knowledge that we may otherwise never discover on our own. We also support and share ideas with other men who wish to set up similar meetings at other locations. This is NO a formal support group but may be a complement to the men's center support groups.
Meetings on the second Thursday of each month at Dana Staats' Design Studio in Chapel Hill from 7-9 p.m. to discuss fictional and non-fictional books with a focus on men, masculinity, and the ever-changing and challenging roles and relationships men face in contemporary society. We will have a potluck dinner at 7 p.m. and begin the book discussion shortly thereafter. Attendance is limited to 15 people each month. Please contact John Allran at (919) 484-0143 or jallran@hotmail.com if you are interested in participating.

based on the Men's Inquiry Group which has been meeting monthly in person and on-line for over 10 years. In the Inquiry meetings, men explore questions about their lives that give new insights and new actions to take. The meetings have inspired men to enhance their relationships with their families, improve their jobs, and resolve old issues in their lives that previously held them back. Questions explored in the Men's Inquiry have included: What does it mean to be a man today? How do you discover your purpose in life and live it while providing for your family? What type of son were you to your father? How do you keep love and passion alive in a long-term relationship?
